The town of Weymouth has a challenging opportunity for a Civil Engineer. The selected individual will have the following skills: Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of civil engineering as they relate to public works projects. Knowledge of stormwater analysis software/calculations, state stormwater standards and the MA NPDES stormwater permit requirements. Ability to design drainage systems, sewers, water mains, roadways, sidewalks, and parking lots. Ability to direct staff engaged in surveying, construction inspection, drafting, or calculations for engineering projects.

In order to be considered, candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field; three to five years of design and/or field construction experience in public works projects, preferably in the municipal field; or an equivalent combination of the required education and experience. AutoCAD/Carlson Civil, ESRI GIS and HydroCAD software knowledge is required. Certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT) with the ability to become a Massachusetts Registered Professional Engineer within two years and a Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Operator’s License are also required. The salary range for this position is $71,964.98 to $88,695.78 based on education and experience.
