This is a Department Head level position, under general supervision of the Mayor providing administrative, technical and supervisory work related to the valuation and re-evaluation of all residential, industrial and commercial real estate and personal property within the city in accordance with Department of Revenue (DOR) regulations, state and local statutes and regulations, and the policies/ordinances of the city of Gardner (the “City”). *Education: Must possess a bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance or a related field.
*Experience: Three years of experience in property tax administration.
*Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
*Massachusetts Accredited Assessor certification (MAA) required, certification must be maintained throughout the appointment.
*Must have or obtain within one year of employment Certification of completion of Massachusetts Department of Revenue Course 101, Assessment Administration: Law, Procedures, and Valuation.
*Working knowledge of GIS software required.
*Certified Commercial Assessor (CMA) and Residential Massachusetts Assessor (RMA) desirable.
*Must possess a valid driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle.
*Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel are required.
*Working knowledge of Vision Appraisal required.
