The town of Southbridge is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable CDBG Coordinator to join our team. The CDBG Coordinator will play a crucial role in managing and administering community development block grants to support our community’s growth and development initiatives. This position requires someone with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for community service.


Education, training and experience: bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, accounting, or a closely related field; three to five years of responsible experience in government financial management; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge of the Massachusetts CDBG grants management system. Knowledge of accounting procedures. Knowledge of computerized accounting systems or governmental accounting systems. Knowledge of Mass. state procurement laws, knowledge of prevailing wage laws (federal and Mass.), knowledge of lead paint laws. Working knowledge of the federal and Mass. laws governing the public administration of CDBG grants.

Ability to use specialized software developed by HUD. Ability to work independently. Ability to organize and maintain complex and detailed records and work effectively under time constraints to meet deadlines. Ability to deal tactfully and appropriately with local, state and federal agencies and officials in an effective manner. Ability to answer complex and technical questions.

Skill: budgeting, technical writing and computer skills, including financial spreadsheets, word processing and the Internet. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Problem-solving skills Strong organizational skills. Self-motivated and the ability to work independently. Skill in computers and appropriate software applications. Strong math skills.

$59,609.27 annual salary
