Help us continue our mission of making the town of Westford a safer place to live and work!

The Westford Fire Department is seeking the next generation of leaders, learners, team players, and problem solvers to join our team. We are currently filling one immediate opening due to an upcoming retirement, and establish a hiring list for future positions.

Requirements: Applicants must have a valid paramedic certification or have an expected paramedic school completion date within 90 days. Two years of pre-hospital 911 experience as a paramedic is desirable, but not required. All applicants must possess a valid driver’s license and minimum high school diploma or equivalent. Firefighter I/II certification is preferred, but not required. Applicants who are not certified Firefighter I/II must complete the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy’s Career Recruit Training Program upon hire. Qualified applicants must pass a written and practical exam that challenges the candidate’s general paramedic knowledge, and knowledge of Massachusetts Statewide Treatment Protocols. Candidates must also pass oral interview, extensive background investigation, medical exam, and physical agility test. Applicants must live within a 25-mile radius of Westford within one year of hire.
