POSITION SUMMARY (FULL DESCRIPTION FOLLOWS BELOW)
Provide administrative fiscal and budgetary assistance to the Office of the Chief of Police. Advisories in all areas of police fiscal obligations and grant opportunities and administration of all financial practices and procedures. Oversight of all budget preparation and account maintenance. Assist in development, coordination and implementation of the department’s capital improvement programs.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting or finance from an accredited college or post-secondary educational institution. Master’s degree preferred.
Experience:
At least three years of similar work experience; one year of which is in an administrative or supervisory capacity. An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and work experience will be considered.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
Able to maintain the strict level of confidentiality required in all Police Department matters.
Very strong basic math and algebraic ability. Fully capable of performing the department’s financial functions with current software and systems programs; fully computer literate and capable of evaluating effectiveness of programs used and recommend enhancements.
Able to direct and oversee the work of others. Clear writing skill with ability to relate financial factors to functions performed.
