Reporting to the Director of Public Health, the incumbent holds the pivotal role of overseeing the City’s Building Division, ensuring its effective administration while adhering to pertinent city, state, and federal regulations concerning zoning, building, gas, plumbing, and electrical inspection and permitting services. Incumbent will work with ADA/Diversity Coordinator for all public issues related to local, state, and federal regulations and work in conjunction with the Employee ADA/Diversity Coordinator on objectives and directives from the Disability Commission. Additionally, the incumbent will perform any other associated duties as necessitated.
Bachelor’s degree in a field related to building construction and/or design plus minimum five years of experience in building construction/design or equivalent education and
Certified Building Commissioner or ability to obtain certification within eighteen
Certified for Weights and Measures (MA).
Must possess a valid driver’s license to operate a motor
Bilingual preferred
