The town of Reading is accepting applications for the position of Building Commissioner in the Public Services department.
This role performs a variety of routine and complex technical work involved in the enforcement of state building code, Reading zoning bylaws, and other related codes and standards, through building inspections and other means.
FY26 Expected Hiring Range: $94,099.20 – $114,649.60 annually
This is a full time position with typical 40 hours per week, varied hours Monday through Thursday with required availability for after normal hours of operation. Emergency on-call 24 hours a day required, with weekend availability if necessary.
