The town of Sudbury seeks a qualified fire service professional to serve as Assistant Fire Chief. This management level position reports to the Fire Chief and involves technical, administrative and supervisory responsibilities. Knowledge of all aspects of fire prevention and suppression, emergency medical service operations and departmental administration is essential. The successful candidate will possess superior leadership, administration, interpersonal, oral and written communication and organizational skills, and computer proficiency. The Assistant Chief will also assume responsibility for the Fire department in the absence of the Fire Chief. Minimum requirements: associate degree in fire science, bachelor’s degree in fire science, public administration or related field preferred; ten years of firefighting experience, three years of supervisory and/or command experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
