The town of Upton seeks a highly motivated, detail-oriented Assistant Treasurer/Collector to support the Treasurer/Collector’s Office. Duties include treasury and collections functions, payroll processing, benefits administration, accounting, clerical support, and regular public interaction, all performed in accordance with federal and state laws, town bylaws, and policies.
Candidates must have an associate’s degree in accounting or a related field and at least five years of municipal accounting and payroll experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification through the Massachusetts Collectors and Treasurers Association is preferred or must be obtained. Strong numerical skills, attention to detail, Excel proficiency, and eligibility to be bonded are required.
Compensation and Benefits: FY27 full salary range is $25.74-$35.27. The starting rate is commensurate with qualifications and experience. This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position scheduled for 40 hours per week.
