The town of Acushnet is seeking a qualified individual for the Assistant Treasurer/Collector position. This employee may, in the absence of the Treasurer/Collector, perform the functions of the Treasurer/Collector as well as overseeing the town’s personnel and payroll programs, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and local personnel laws. This employee is responsible for administering healthcare benefits, workers’ compensation and employee insurances, including supervising the processing of health insurance, open enrollment, retirement administration, OBRA, COBRA, and deferred compensation programs. This is a union position. Qualifications: Associate degree in business administration or a related field and at least two years of progressively responsible experience in municipal government involving treasurer/collector and personnel administration functions or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Assistant Treasurer/Tax Collector must be bondable. Preferred Qualifications: MUNIS experience strongly preferred. Massachusetts Municipal Treasurer or Collector certification with three years of experience. Starting salary: $50,000 – $60,000 DOQ.
