Town of Rockport | Assistant Town Treasurer/Collector

The town of Rockport is seeking qualified applicants to join our team as Assistant Town Treasurer/Collector in the Treasurer/Collector’s office. This full-time position functions as an assistant to the Treasurer/Collector. The list of duties includes a variety of confidential administrative support services, independent project work, billing, posting, and recon of manual A/R. Supervise accounting transactions for daily receipts, prepare accounting transactions for abatements, payment adjustments, billing & refunds. The position reports directly to the Finance Director – Treasurer/Collector.  The willingness to be flexible, prioritize tasks, work independently, complete projects effectively within strict deadlines and provide excellent customer service skills are required.

Preferred Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field and a minimum of three years management experience; municipal finance experience a plus. Must have advanced knowledge of QuickBooks, Microsoft Office products and the ability to learn new software quickly. Must be able to work independently, interact effectively with diverse groups, and establish positive public relations for Town and Department; excellent communications and customer service skills a must.
