Hourly Rate: $29.10 – $31.94 (FY27)
The town of Boxford has an opening for the position of Assistant Town Clerk to provide the necessary administrative and clerical support to achieve the effective and efficient operations of the department and to assist the Town Clerk in performing the duties of the office. The Assistant Town Clerk functions as the Town Clerk in his/her absence. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional interested in election administration and public service to gain practical experience in an office of critical importance to the community.
This is an 18 hour a week, non-benefit eligible position; Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. -12:30 p.m. The position may increase up to 34 hours per week when the Town Clerk is on vacation or absent from the office, as well as during the annual town election, annual and special town meetings, and federal and state primary and general elections, among other times. Additional hours may also be required when the workload increases during certain periods of the year and some weekend and evening hours may be necessary.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s or associate degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of two to three years of related work experience in municipal government, preferably in a Town/City Clerk’s office required; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
