JOB POSTING – ASSISTANT TOWN ADMINISTRATOR / FINANCE DIRECTOR
Town of Boxford | Full-Time, Exempt
Salary Range: $116,684 – $163,358 (Grade N-9)
The town of Boxford seeks an experienced, collaborative municipal professional to serve as Assistant Town Administrator/Finance Director. This leadership role offers the opportunity to help guide organizational strategy, financial policy, and operational modernization within a high-performing local government.
Reporting to the Town Administrator, this position serves as a key member of the executive leadership team, supporting municipal operations, financial management, strategic initiatives, labor relations, capital planning, procurement, and major Town projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate annual operating and capital budget development
- Support long-range financial forecasting and policy implementation
- Oversee coordination of Finance Team functions
- Lead organizational improvement and strategic initiatives
- Assist with procurement and contract administration
- Conduct financial and operational analyses
- Support labor relations and personnel administration
- Prepare Town Meeting financial materials and presentations
- Serve as liaison to the Finance Committee
- Act on behalf of the Town Administrator when designated
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in public administration, finance, business, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Minimum five (5) years of relevant municipal or financial management experience
- Knowledge of Massachusetts municipal finance and government
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across departments
