The town of Hull, a scenic coastal community with beautiful views and a strong sense of community pride, is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented individual to join its Finance department as the Assistant Town Accountant. This full time position follows a four-day work week schedule, Monday through Thursday, 7:45 a.m. to 5 p.m., offering a healthy work-life balance while maintaining professional challenge and growth.
Under the direction of the Town Accountant, this position is responsible for assisting in the maintenance of municipal financial records, processing payroll warrants and accounts payable, supporting budget oversight, preparing for audits, and ensuring compliance with Massachusetts municipal finance laws and accounting principles.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, with three to five years of municipal or fund accounting experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with municipal accounting software is preferred. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines are essential.
The salary range for this full-time position is $75,000–$95,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience, and includes a competitive benefits package.
