The town of Lunenburg is seeking a detail-oriented, motivated professional to join our team as Assistant Town Accountant.
In this role, you will support the Finance Director with the daily operations of the Accounting Department. Responsibilities include maintaining budget accounts, preparing accounts payable warrants, reconciling receivables, posting journal entries, monitoring grants, maintaining vendor accounts, and maintaining ledgers and financial records. The Assistant Town Accountant also serves as Department Head in the temporary absence of the Finance Director—making this a great opportunity to broaden your municipal finance experience.
Associate degree in accounting, finance or a related field; minimum of one to three years of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of the Uniform Municipal Accounting System (UMAS), Massachusetts General Laws, municipal accounting software (such as MUNIS), and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs is highly desirable.

This is a part-time, 32 hours per week (M-TH), fully benefited, AFSCME Union position. Pay Range: $26.64/hr.-$33.40/hr, DOEQ.
