Assistant Town Accountant; full-time or part-time. This is a union position, working under the direction of the Town Accountant. Performs responsible accounting tasks, including primary responsibility for all accounts payable/receivable, warrant preparation, resolving vendor disputes, processing/posting cash receipts, the maintenance of financial records and preparation of statutory reports, tracking and recording of fixed assets, and financial monitoring of all town funds, federal and state grants.
Qualifications: Associate’s degree in accounting or related field; two years of progressively responsible experience in municipal accounting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Massachusetts Municipal Auditors’ and Accountants’ Association (MMAAA) Certified Governmental Accountant within five years of employment. Experience with MUNIS software desired. Criminal background/CORI check, pre-employment physical, drug testing. Starting Salary range: Full-time $50,000 – $60,000 with benefits; Part-time non-benefited $30,000 – $35,000 DOQ.
