Reporting to the Purchasing Agent and serving as the Assistant Chief Procurement Officer, assists in directing the central Purchasing functions for the city and assists in ensuring the city engages in cost effective purchasing procedures and is in compliance with Mass. law governing procurement of municipal supplies, services, materials, equipment, and construction projects. Supervises Buyers and is responsible for the day to day operations of the procurement of goods and services. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience required. MCPPO designation required or attainable within 18 months of hire. Experience and knowledge of M.G.L. c. 30B required. Proven ability to manage diverse staff of varied skill level. Familiarity with IFB and RFP process. Experience in public sector finance and purchasing protocols and procedures highly desirable. $75,082 – $103,417 annually + plus excellent benefits.
