The city of Chelsea is seeking to fulfill the position Assistant Director of Human Resources.
Position Summary:
As a key member of the Human Resources team reporting directly to the Human Resources Director, the Assistant Director of Human Resources is responsible for assisting the HR Director with the execution of a variety of core HR projects, programs, and tasks, such as recruitment and hiring, training and development, Civil Service administration, salary reviews, progressive discipline, manager consultations, employee relations matters and investigations, position reclassifications, etc. The position is responsible for providing highly responsive, confidential support to all stakeholders and client populations, including employees, Human Resources team members, managers, and other internal and external parties. The position will serve as the Director of HR in his/her absence.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree and three to five years of experience in human resources management, benefits administration or related; or any equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and experience.
Annual Salary Range: $93,533.63 – $129,882.88 (FY26)
