Assistant Council on Aging Director/Social Services Specialist

32 hours/week | Grade 8, Step 1: $28.80 – Step 3: $29.97/hour DOQ (fy26).
The town of Hamilton is seeking a compassionate and organized professional to join our Council on Aging team! In this dual role, you will deliver vital social services to older adults while assisting with the day-to-day operations of our Senior Center.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide case management, counseling, crisis intervention, and outreach services.
- Connect seniors to housing, food, health, and financial resources.
- Support Senior Center operations: answer phones, greet visitors, assist with volunteer coordination, and prepare program reports.
- Serve as backup for transportation and logistics in the Director’s absence.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in social work, gerontology, or related field required (bachelor’s preferred).
- Two to three years of experience in elder services or case management.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain SHINE and CPR certifications within six months.
- Strong communication skills, confidentiality, and Microsoft Office proficiency.
Schedule: Monday–Thursday 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., and Friday 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. (32 hours/week).
