The town of Brookline seeks a collaborative and detail-oriented Assistant Chief Procurement Officer to support procurement for both Town and School departments. This key role ensures legal compliance, cost-effective purchasing, and efficient contract management across a wide range of goods, services, and equipment.
The Assistant Chief Procurement Officer will develop and manage bids and RFPs, negotiate contracts, provide procurement expertise to town and school staff, and lead large-scale and cooperative purchasing initiatives. This position also supports the implementation and management of automated purchasing systems and promotes centralized procurement to maximize savings.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field, with three to five years of procurement experience, including bid analysis, vendor evaluation, and contract management. Strong knowledge of Massachusetts procurement laws, municipal purchasing practices, and sourcing strategies is essential. Excellent communication, negotiation, and project management skills are required. CPM and MAPPO certifications are mandatory.
Salary Range: $88,410 – $100,032 annually, with a comprehensive benefits package.
