Haverhill Public Schools is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Assistant Business Manager to support the district’s financial operations. This position works closely with the CFO to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in daily financial activities, with a particular focus on payroll, accounts payable, and grant reporting.
Key responsibilities include assisting with payroll processing to ensure employee pay is accurate and timely; supporting accounts payable by reviewing invoices, purchase orders, and payments; and helping to prepare and maintain grant and budget records in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. The Assistant Business Manager also assists in preparing financial reports, maintaining accounting records, and providing data for audits and year-end closings.
The ideal candidate will be highly detail-oriented, comfortable working with financial systems, and committed to accuracy and timeliness. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential, as this position interacts with city departments, school administrators, and external agencies.
Salary: Up to $115,000, commensurate with experience.
