Town of Tyngsborough – Assessor’s Assistant

The town of Tyngsborough seeks qualified applicants for the position of Assessor’s Assistant, up to 35 hrs/wk.  This position is appointed by the BOS and is included in the town’s SEIU Clerical Union. Position provides highly responsible administrative services to the Assessor’s Office and Board of Assessors. Receives calls and visitors, provides information to taxpayers and co-workers. Researches abatements, prepares reports, completes special projects, maintains and reviews data. Requires ability and skill to deal tactfully and effectively with the public; excellent computer skills, written and oral communication. Works under the general direction of the Chief Assessor. Experience in assessing, appraisal or real estate work desirable; or any combination of education or experience that demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills and abilities; experience in a municipal setting and working with the public is strongly preferred.
