The town of Wrentham is seeking a detail-oriented administrative professional to provide administrative and recordkeeping work for the Department of Public Works.
Duties include but are not limited to: Provide office support to the Department of Public Works by answering telephone calls and helping the public as well as employees; preparing correspondence; responding to complaints by resolving issues and processing incoming mail. Responsible for the payroll for the Department of Public Works including Cemetery, Equipment Maintenance Highway, and Water Department payroll. Verifies and maintains salary records as well as stipends and allowances for the various departments in accordance with the current union contract. Completes work orders and schedules service appointments for the Water Department and is responsible for entering the work performed into the system. Collects and records money from contractors and residents for work performed. Required to report to work and perform office duties during emergency situations, specifically snow & ice and other emergency issues. May include dispatching information and tracking vehicles.
Qualifications and Experience: High school diploma; business training or associate’s degree preferred; one to three years of office or business experience; municipal experience preferred; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to successfully pass town of Wrentham background check. Knowledge of office practices and procedures. Ability to communicate effectively with the public, coworkers, vendors, other employees, other departments, officials, and other agencies. Proficient computer skills and excellent organizational skills required.
Schedule: 40 hours per week.
Salary: Full-time, Benefit eligible, Union position. Hourly range: $22.02 to $29.07
