EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: The Administrative Assistant – Assessing performs customer support and clerical duties in support of the Assistant Administrator. This position is responsible for obtaining, maintaining, and recording accurate information essential to determining ownership and values for property taxes, excise taxes, and personal exemptions. The position works under the supervision of the Assistant Administrator and supports the cyclical functions of the Assessing Office in accordance with Massachusetts department of Revenue regulations and town policies.

MIN. QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree or two year certificate in administrative, secretarial, or paralegal studies preferred. Three years or more of relevant administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Strong knowledge of office procedures, record keeping practices, and customer service principles. Proficiency with computer software, email, internet applications, and database systems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail in a fast paced environment.

COMPENSATION: Grade 2, $23.39 to $29.98 per hour, union position (UPSEU), 35 hours per week, non-exempt, overtime eligible in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement. Full benefits.
