The Townsend Police Department is currently seeking applications for a full-time Administrative Assistant.
The Administrative Assistant serves as the principal Administrative Assistant to the Chief of Police and provides continuity in the administrative leadership and management of the Police Department.
General duties of the Administrative Assistant include but are not limited to human resource management of personnel files, submitting payroll, submitting bills payable and tracking expenses, maintaining records and applications, data input including spreadsheets, preparing correspondence, assists in the preparation of department budgets, processes insurance claims, and firearms records and applications as well as a wide variety of other duties as assigned. The position of Administrative Assistant is a highly sensitive position that deals with classified information such as internal personnel matters, criminal histories and juvenile and adult offender information. This position involves a high degree of diplomacy, tact, judgment, dedication, and commitment.
