JOB SUMMARY:

This position represents responsible, complex fiscal clerical work. The incumbent will be responsible for the posting, reconciling and maintenance of a variety of accounts receivable financial records for the Framingham Housing Authority.

SUPERVISION:

The incumbent receives general supervision from the finance manager for Framingham Housing Authority duties. Incumbent will also be responsible for processing various timely reports, at which time any unusual matters or findings need to be brought to management’s attention.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Daily posting of the tenant rental payments, either through lockbox or automated money management system
  • Review and verify daily cash activity
  • Prepare/post adjusting entries to reflect tenant rental increase/decrease/vacate/entry
  • Review and discuss account issues with tenants either by phone or in person
  • Prepare/post TAR adjustments as deemed necessary for court or work order charges
  • Post tenant rental charges and upload invoice file to printers’ monthly
  • Maintaining pet deposit spreadsheet and records
  • Monthly recording of all utility expenses for all properties
  • HAFIS energy report creation & submission to EOHLC upon monthly GL reconciliation
  • Maintain complete and pertinent records of fixed assets/maintenance assets/office assets
  • Prepare quarterly fixed asset report for finance manager
  • Maintain spreadsheet of tenant bad debts and repayments for voucher programs
  • Prepare and process year end bad debt write offs
  • Prepare monthly board warrants
  • Prepare monthly Section 8 checks/direct deposit files
  • Prepare Section 8 1099s on an annual basis

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Knowledge of accounting principles and practices

Understanding of integrated accounting system

Highly proficient in Windows office, mainly excel spreadsheets

Excellent math computation ability

Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skillsAbility to multitask

EDUCATION:

Minimum educational requirement of an associate degree in accounting or at least five years of relevant work experience

SALARY:

$63,000 – $68,000
