The town of Sutton seeks a qualified Treasurer/Collector to oversee the receipt, investment, and custody of Town funds. This position manages cash flow, ensures receivables are properly recorded, and pays all obligations, including payroll, vendor invoices, and debt service, on time.

Responsibilities include collecting real estate, personal property, boat and motor vehicle excise
taxes and sewer bills; managing tax title accounts; reconciling accounts; and preparing required
financial reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage municipal funds, including collection of taxes and assessments, cash flow, payments, and reconciliations.
  • Oversee treasury operations, payroll funding, wire transfers, and internal controls.
  • Administer tax titles and delinquencies, including foreclosures, auctions, and recordkeeping.
  • Direct borrowing and debt management, including bonds, notes, and banking services.
  • Handle investments and reporting, ensuring legal compliance, grant monitoring, and collaboration with the Town Manager.

Anticipated Salary Range: $85,000 to $106,000
