Town Engineer

$100,888.02 – $131,491.62

37.5 hours/week, FLSA Exempt

Engineering Division within the department of Public Works. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated engineering professional who is ready to make a lasting impact on the town’s infrastructure, growth, and sustainability.

As the Town Engineer, you’ll oversee all aspects of municipal engineering operations, from planning and design to construction and maintenance of the town’s infrastructure. You’ll provide strategic leadership to a dedicated team responsible for highways, water, sewer, and drainage systems, as well as GIS, stormwater management, and conservation support.

This role combines technical expertise with leadership and collaboration, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently, safely, and in the best interest of the community.

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering required; master’s degree preferred.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in Massachusetts required.
  • Five to seven years of progressively responsible experience in public works or municipal engineering and supervisory experience
  • Proven ability to manage complex public infrastructure projects and departmental operations.
  • Strong knowledge of public works construction methods, safety standards, and municipal procedures.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
