Town of Swampscott – Town Clerk
The town of Swampscott (pop. 15,600) seeks a detail-oriented, experienced professional to serve as Town Clerk. This position is responsible for maintaining official town records, managing vital statistics, overseeing elections and voter registration, issuing licenses and permits, and ensuring compliance with public records, open meeting, and ethics laws. The Clerk provides administrative support to town boards, manages the annual census and Town Meeting records, and supervises departmental staff and election workers.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business, or related field; master’s preferred. Five to seven years of municipal or public service experience with supervisory and election management responsibilities preferred. Certification as a Massachusetts Town Clerk preferred or obtainable. Must become a Notary Public and Justice of the Peace within one year.

Salary: $82,000+- with a comprehensive benefits package.
Full-time, exempt position reporting to the Town Administrator.
