The Franklin Regional Council of Governments (FRCOG) seeks a collaborative, mission-driven Director of Finance to lead financial operations and support key human resources functions. The hiring range is $108,800 to $135,000, depending on qualifications, with an excellent benefits package including paid time off, holidays, medical benefits, pension, and deferred compensation.

FRCOG serves the 26 municipalities of Franklin County, Massachusetts, providing regional planning, public health, emergency preparedness, economic development, municipal services, and other collaborative programs.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Finance oversees a $9 million budget, multiple grants and funding sources, fund accounting, budgeting, audits, financial reporting, compliance, payroll-related functions, benefits administration, and personnel policies. This hands-on leadership role requires balancing strategic financial planning with day-to-day operational oversight while communicating complex financial information clearly.

Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field and at least seven years of relevant experience, including five years in fiscal management or grant auditing. Municipal finance, governmental accounting, supervisory experience, and strong communication and financial systems skills are required. A CPA or master’s degree is preferred.
