COMPENSATION: Grade 11 Exempt, $93,313 – $122,440 annual (DOQ), Full-Time, evening meetings required

HOURS OF WORK: Minimum of 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday, occasional evenings for meetings required and on call shifts

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Inspects buildings and construction sites, reviews plans, issues permits, interprets, explains and enforces building and other codes, standards and by-laws, serves as Zoning Enforcement Officer of Town zoning-by laws, attends evening board and commission meetings, performs administrative work in documenting and recording approvals, providing opinions and decisions on permit applications and records requests; works with the Planning Board, Conservation Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals on proposed projects and makes recommendations; prepares and oversees department budget; supervises office staff.
MIN. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, design, architecture or related field preferred. Certificate in construction management, or associate degree in building construction, engineering or design plus five to seven years of building construction or design experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience are required. Must hold and maintain certification as a Massachusetts Local Building Inspector, or obtain said certification within 24 months of hire. Extension to obtain this certification is at the discretion of the Wilbraham Select Board, and in accordance with the MGL and regulations of the MA BBRS. Valid Driver’s License required.
