The town of Dudley seeks a qualified, detail-oriented candidate to serve as a full-time Assistant Town Accountant/Highway Administrative Assistant. This position provides administrative and financial support to the Town Accountant and Highway department, playing a key role in municipal accounting operations and departmental coordination.

Working under the direction of the Town Accountant and in coordination with the Highway Superintendent, the successful candidate performs a wide range of financial duties, including processing accounts payable and payroll, reconciling financial data, maintaining vendor records, and supporting budget and year-end processes. This role also supports Highway Department operations by managing communications, coordinating schedules, maintaining records, and serving as a liaison with vendors and the public.

The ideal candidate will have an associate degree or equivalent and five to seven years of relevant experience. Municipal experience and knowledge of GAAP, GASB, and Massachusetts General Laws are strongly preferred. This is a benefit-eligible, Grade 3 position (40 hours/week) with a pay range of $24.04 to $30.45 per hour, depending on qualifications. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.
