The city is seeking a City Engineer / Assistant Director of Public Works to lead engineering operations, including infrastructure design, transportation systems, utilities, and construction management. This position supports the DPW Director in overseeing projects and ensuring alignment with municipal priorities.

Responsibilities include managing public works projects from design through construction, preparing plans and specifications, overseeing bidding and contractor compliance, and conducting site inspections. The role also supports development review, maintains infrastructure records, and provides technical guidance for water, sewer, and stormwater systems.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with public officials, contractors, and residents, ensuring projects meet regulatory standards, timelines, and budgets. This position may serve as Acting DPW Director as needed.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (or related field) and five-plus years of experience required. FE certification required; PE license preferred. Supervisory experience and knowledge of municipal regulations, GIS, and stormwater compliance are highly desirable.
