Assistant City Engineer

The city of Woburn Engineering department seeks motivated, qualified candidate for the position of Assistant City Engineer. The Assistant City Engineer assists the City Engineer in oversight of the Engineering department and in carrying out the overall responsibilities of the Engineering department. Performs complex and professional engineering work in the provision of office and engineering support and field engineering support for environmental, water, sewer, roads, and other projects and programs ensuring technical competence and compliance with all current codes and criteria.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in Autocad is required
  • Survey experience preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of GIS
  • Seven years of previous professional civil engineering experience, preferably in the public sector
  • Professional engineering license preferred but not required
  • Strong, effective communication skills to present engineering information to individuals with limited knowledge of engineering.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduation from a four-year college or university with a bachelor of science (B.S.) degree in civil engineering or a closely related programs; and a minimum of seven years previous professional civil engineering experience.

Hours of Work

32.5 hours a week

Salary Range: $87,062.91 – $107,076.40 to commensurate with experience
